Marcos has worked professionally in the financial services system as an economist for the past 23 years. He was born in Chicago Ill., U.S.A., but was raised in Mexico City where he currently resides.

As longtime Rotarian, he is former President of the Rotary Club Anáhuac in Mexico City in 2009-2010. He was Vice President/Co-Founder of the Rotary Club of Valle de Anáhuac, established in 2012. Marcos participated for 4 years with District 4170 in the annual Rotary Foundation Club Training Program.

To be able to jointly participate in Rural Water Projects with CONAGUA (National Water Commission), his club signed (RD 4170/WASRAG), its First Collaboration Agreement in June 2012. A second Collaboration Agreement with CONAGUA was signed February 2016. RD4170-4195/WASRAG. 

Marcos has been a leader in several Rotary grants involving water systems for rural communities including: "Water System for the Community of Tamalcuatitla,Municipality of Yahualíca", State of Hidalgo and “Water System for the Municipality of Xochiatipan, State of Hidalgo.”

He was also instrumental in a  WASRAG Pilot Program that included two projects that were carried out in the municipalities of Ayala and Xochitepec in the state of Morelos. The first project Municipio de Ayala, included the Expansion of the Drinking Water System in the Rural Locality Benito Juarez Extension Southwest Area of la Colonia Libertad, and Southeast Area of Rincon de Los Sauces. Includes distribution network. The second project, Municipio de Xochitepec, consisted in supplying equipment to a deep well, that was drilled in 2015, a 40 HP submersible pump, column, electrical system package and chlorination system.

His former managed a club Project for “Containers of drinking water and drinkers with filters for schools in the Municipalities of Almoloya de Juárez, State of Mexico.” They also participated as International Partner for a project “To Upgrade Toilets and Basic Education and Literacy Facilities in six Government Schools in Mexico” and a second project to “Provide Water and Sanitation and Educational Support to six Schools in Haryana, India.”

Marcos is currently the WASRAG Coordinator in Mexico.
